Return of Jesus, May 21st, 2011?
By Mike Taylor
But of that day and
that hour knoweth no
man, no, not the
angels which are in
heaven, neither the
Son, but the Father.
Take ye heed, watch
and pray: for ye
know not when the
time is. (Mark
13:32-33)
A
new false prophecy
has caught many
people’s attention
here lately that the
Lord will come on
the date mentioned
of May 21st, 2011. I shouldn’t
say “new” as it’s
been around for
about 23 years, but
in these last days,
people are seeing
what is happening
around them and are
looking for reasons
for their happening.
People are becoming
fearful and there
are people who,
sadly, play on the
fears of men that
are not right with
God Almighty.
There is a man by
the name of Harold
Camping who has
postulated that we
“can know the exact
date of the Lord’s
return” to
paraphrase his
position of the
return of our Lord
Jesus Christ. If you
do a Google search
using this date, you
will find a large
amount of
information on this
unscriptural
doctrine that
directly challenges
what Jesus spoke of
in Mark chapter 13
quoted above.
This man and his
followers believe
that the bible has a
“Biblical Calendar
of History” that can
show, quote “The
genealogies of the
book of Genesis,
primarily in
chapters 5 and 11,
can be shown to be a
precise calendar of
the history of
mankind in this
world. The
Bible’s calendar of
history is
completely accurate
and trustworthy.”
From this
springboard the
doctrine launches
into a distorted
view of end time
prophecy by twisting
the word of God into
what they wish it to
say.
Their points
about the history of
the world, are as
follows:
11,013 BC—Creation.
God created the
world and man (Adam
and Eve).
4990 BC—The
flood of Noah’s day.
All perished in a
worldwide flood.
Only Noah, his wife,
and his 3 sons and
their wives survived
in the ark (6023
years from
creation).
7 BC—The year
Jesus Christ was
born (11,006 years
from creation).
33 AD—The
year Jesus Christ
was crucified and
the church age began
(11,045 years from
creation; 5023
calendar years from
the flood).
1988 AD—This
year ended the
church age and began
the great
tribulation period
of 23 years (13,000
years from
creation).
1994 AD—On
September 7th,
the first 2300-day
period of the great
tribulation came to
an end and the
latter rain began,
commencing God’s
plan to save a great
multitude of people
outside of the
churches (13,006
years from
creation).
2011 AD—On
May 21st,
Judgment Day will
begin and the
rapture (the taking
up into heaven of
God’s elect people)
will occur at the
end of the 23-year
great tribulation.
On October 21st,
the world will be
destroyed by fire
(7000 years from the
flood; 13,023 years
from creation).
Notice that their
“interpretation” of
scripture says that
we are in the
tribulation right
now. I would first
ask them, where in
the Bible is your
scriptural support
for any of this
analogy?
Jesus made it plain
that several things
must happen before
the
great
tribulation begins.
Matthew
chapter 24:
v. 15 When ye
therefore shall see
the abomination of
desolation, spoken
of by Daniel the
prophet, stand in
the holy place,
(whoso readeth, let
him understand:)”
then on down, we
read:
v. 21 For
then
shall be great
tribulation, such as
was not since the
beginning of the
world to this time,
no, nor ever shall
be.
v. 22. And except
those days should be
shortened, there
should no flesh be
saved: but for the
elect's sake those
days shall be
shortened.
Jesus speaks of wars
and rumor of war,
false prophets,
false messiahs, and
there shall be
famines, and
pestilences, and
earthquakes, in
divers places. These
are the beginning of
sorrows and we see
them all around us.
But does that mean
that today we are in
the last part of the
tribulation and
Jesus is coming in a
few short months?
Can this be, or is
this another false
prophet who we need
not take seriously?
Let’s let the facts
speak for
themselves.
“On
Sept. 6, 1994,
dozens of Camping's
believers gathered
inside
Alameda's
Veterans Memorial Building
to await the return
of Christ, an event
Camping had promised
for two years.
Followers dressed
children in their
Sunday best and held
Bibles open-faced
toward heaven.
But the world did
not end. Camping
allowed that he may
have made a
mathematical error.
He spent the next
decade running new
calculations, as
well as overseeing
a media company
that has grown
significantly in
size and reach.”
Mr. Camping
is a mathematician
and engineer by
trade and conceded
that he was wrong
and set out to
revise his formula
to take another shot
at predicting the
return of our Lord.
Of course, along the
way, the man is
going to make a lot
of money from sheep
who follow him and
send him their
tithes. Let us note
that the Jehovah
Witness have
speculated the
return of Jesus
Christ since the
late 1800’s and have
been wrong every
time. As they are in
error, so is Mr.
Camping.
I’ve had people that
have emailed me
concerned that the
day of the Lord is
close and asking for
biblical direction.
My first response is
that if a mere man
is predicting
something that even
Jesus Christ,
or His angels have
no knowledge of, but
only the Father,
then those
predictions will
fail, based on
taking scripture out
of context or
twisting the sacred
Words of the text.
Mr. Camping goes
further into his
false prophecy by
claiming the
following:
“May 21 st,
2011 is the
equivalent date to
the date when God
shut the door on
Noah’s ark. Through
this and much other
Biblical
information, we find
that May 21 st,
2011 will be the day
when God takes up
into heaven His
elect people.
May 21st,
2011 will
be Judgment Day!
This is the day God
shuts the door of
salvation on the
world.
In other words, in
having the great
tribulation period
conclude on a day
that identifies with
the 17th
day of the 2nd
month of Noah’s
calendar, God is
without question
confirming to us
that this is the day
He intends to shut
forever the door of
entry into heaven:
John 10:9
I am the door:
by me if any man
enter in, he shall
be saved, and shall
go in and out, and
find pasture.
The Bible is very
clear that Christ is
the only way into
heaven. He is
the only portal into
the glorious kingdom
of heaven.
Acts
4:12
Neither is there
salvation in any
other: for there is
none other name
under heaven given
among men, whereby
we must be saved.
Once the door
(Jesus) is shut on
Judgment Day, there
is no more salvation
possible on earth”.
Although the
scriptures are
correct, his analogy
is wrong
There are many
problems associated
with this false
teaching which would
take several pages
to review, but the
most glaring are the
following, but not
limited to just
these:
1.
When are the two
witnesses suppose to
come upon the scene
and prophecy at the
temple for 1260 days
(3 ½ years) in
sackcloth and
perform miracles by
bringing plagues on
an unrepentant
population, or
shutting up the
heavens to prevent
rain and bringing
fire down from
heaven to destroy
those that attempt
to destroy them?
2.
When is the
abomination of
desolation to begin,
that a man will
stand in a newly
created temple and
claim to be god in
the flesh?
3.
When was the temple
built so that a
figure of the man
can be worshiped by
godless men and set
up in a wing of that
temple so that all
who fail to worship
the idol image will
be killed?
4.
When was 2/3 of
mankind extinguished
by natural
disasters, war, and
famine?
5.
Can Mr. Camping
point to any of the
seal judgments or
bowl judgments that
have begun? Any of
them?
6.
The above statement
of not anyone
receiving salvation
after May 21, 2011 nullifies God’s word and
the sealing of 144,
000 Jewish
evangelist who will
preach and a vast
number of persons
will accept Jesus as
personal Savior
during that 7 year
period.
Obviously, any
person with any
discernment can see
that none of these
have transpired and
there are many, many
more that Mr.
Camping neglects to
explain. This self
proclaimed prophet
and seer was
proclaimed by God of
being a false
prophet, and if a
false prophet, then
none of his
predictions will
come to pass.
Deuteronomy
18:20-22:
But the prophet,
which shall presume
to speak a word in
my name, which I
have not commanded
him to speak, or
that shall speak in
the name of other
gods, even that
prophet shall die.
v. 21 And if thou
say in thine heart,
How shall we know
the word which the
LORD hath not
spoken?
v. 22 When a
prophet speaketh in
the name of the
LORD, if the thing
follow not, nor come
to pass, that is the
thing which the LORD
hath not spoken, but
the prophet hath
spoken it
presumptuously: thou
shalt not be afraid
of him.
Note that this
“prophet” has spoken
of a time of Jesus
return in previous
years and it did not
come to pass. Not to
mention all the
scriptural errors
his doctrine
espouses and they
are many. When you
read the book of
Matthew, and coupled
with Revelation and
Daniel, then you
will understand that
this man should not
be taken seriously.
For yourselves know
perfectly that the
day of the Lord so
cometh as a thief in
the night.
v.3 For when they
shall say, Peace and
safety; then sudden
destruction cometh
upon them, as
travail upon a woman
with child; and they
shall not escape.
v4, But ye,
brethren, are not in
darkness, that that
day should overtake
you as a thief.
v. 5 Ye are all the
children of light,
and the children of
the day: we are not
of the night, nor of
darkness.
v. 6Therefore let us
not sleep, as do
others; but let us
watch and be sober.
1 Thessalonians
5:2-6.
The best way is to
be a follower and
believer in Jesus
Christ and read and
study your bible,
you handbook for
living in these
days. Then you will
not be duped by
anyone coming and
saying, “I have a
word from the Lord.”
You will know
better.
Sadly, there is a judgment for
people who distort
the Word of God for
whatever reason
whether is be for
money, prestige, or
power. Only God
knows their heart’s
intent, but to
pervert the Holy
Bible and its
message that came
straight from
Almighty God, is to
trifle with your
eternal destination.
Revelation 22:18-19,
For I testify unto
every man that
heareth the words of
the prophecy of this
book, If any man
shall add unto these
things, God shall
add unto him the
plagues that are
written in this
book:
22:19 And
if any man shall
take away from the
words of the book of
this prophecy, God
shall take away his
part out of the book
of life, and out of
the holy city, and
from the things
which are written in
this book.
When He speaks of
“this book” He, our
Lord, means the
whole book, from
Genesis to
Revelation as it all
God’s Word, and we
are not to change
any of it or its
message.
On the other side of
this coin that we
have addressed, is
the fear of the
people, just as it
was in the day of
Paul who feared that
they were in the
last days, and the
Day of the Lord was
right upon them.
They feared that
they had missed the
return of Jesus
Christ and were
doomed to go through
perilous times of
great destruction
heaped upon a
disbelieving and
unrighteous
generation.
Now let’s turn to a
real prophet and an
apostle to Jesus
Christ who will be
correct in the words
that he wrote, under
the direction of the
Holy Spirit. Let’s
turn to read the
words of the Apostle
Paul:
II Thessalonians
2:3-5, Let no one in
any way deceive you,
for it will not come
unless the apostasy
comes first, and the
man of lawlessness
reveals himself, the
son of destruction,
v4.
who opposes and
exalts himself above
every so-called god
or object of
worship, so that he
takes his seat in
the temple of God, displaying himself as equivalent to
God.
v. 5 Do you not
remember that while
I still remained
with you, I told you
these things?
Paul was reminding
these people of the
church in
Thessalonica that
people who came to
them and told them
that the Day of Lord
had already passed
and they were to
endure the
Tribulation, were
false prophets. As
it was then, so it
is today. Paul went
on in the same
chapter:
And you know what
restrains him now,
so that in his time
he will reveal
himself.
V7,
For the
mystery of
lawlessness already
work; only he who
now restrains will
do so until God
takes him out of the
way.
v8
Then that lawless
one will become
revealed whom the
Lord will slay with
the breath of His
mouth and bring to
an end by the
appearance of His
coming;
v:9
namely, the one
whose coming accords
with the activity of
Satan, with all
power and signs and
false wonders,
v:10 and
with all the
deception of
wickedness for those
who perish, because
they did not receive
the love of the
truth so as to
receive salvation.
Many on this site,
have shown by using
the Word of God,
that there will be a
7 year span of time,
called Daniel’s 70th
week. In the
beginning of that
week, a man will
rise up, as a
peacemaker and make
a treaty with
Israel
for 7 years. In the
end, he will show
that he is of the
power of Satan,
himself. He may
introduce a peace
treaty to try and
solve the
Israeli-Palestinian
question over the
rights to the land of Israel,
God’s land. When he
does, it will
immediately start
the clock of the
countdown to the
Kingdom of God, as
Jesus permanently
returns to this
earth for a 1000
year reign….None of
this mentioned above
and found in your
Bible has taken
place, YET!! It is
just over the
horizon and the
puzzle is forming
and the picture is
becoming more
distinct and clear
as we inch closer
and closer to that
prophetic time
line’s end….Take any
man’s word with a
grain of salt, and
as a good Berean,
search the
scriptures to see if
these things be so.
Just as is found in
Acts
17:10-11:
And the brethren
immediately sent
away Paul and Silas
by night unto
Berea:
who coming thither
went into the
synagogue of the
Jews.
v.11, These were
more noble than
those in
Thessalonica, in
that they received
the word with all
readiness of mind,
and
searched the
scriptures daily,
whether those things
were so.
I readily understand
the fear that I read
in some of my emails
concerning the
predicted
approaching of the
Day of the Lord.
They worry about
their spiritual
condition. Are they
really saved? Are
they in danger of
missing the coming
of the Lord in the
clouds of heaven for
His church? Will
they end up
experiencing the
tribulation, or
worse yet, end up in
eternity without God
and without hope? Or
are they just
excited at the
prospect of Jesus
coming even sooner
than they thought?
Only they and God
knows their heart.
These are all valid
reasons and concerns
of people who have
heard the Word,
either in church or
in their family, but
may never have given
their life and
strength to
following the Lord
with all their heart
and mind, and they
are worried.
Are you
worried?
Why not erase that
fear today? Are you
one of those people
who have heard the
call of the Holy
Spirit, but have
ignored His
invitation? Are you
afraid of an
uncertain future and
what is coming upon
the earth? You can
make that decision
for Jesus right now.
When Peter was asked
of the masses in
Acts chapter 2,
“Men and brethren,
what shall we do?
v. 38” Then Peter
said unto them,
Repent, and be
baptized every one
of you in the name
of Jesus Christ for
the remission of
sins, and ye shall
receive the gift of
the Holy Ghost.”
I
call on you today,
to do as Peter
spoke. Believe on
the Lord Jesus and
thou shalt be saved.
THEN, live like
it. Then you
will not have to
fear what is coming,
but you can “lift up
your heads, for your
redemption draweth
nigh.”
If there is anything
I can help you with,
pray with you about,
or just listen, drop

This is Mike Taylor
wishing you well,
till we meet at
Jesus feet. God
bless you all.
